Loyalty Card Companies Try To Squeeze More Money From Customers June 27, 2009

Pissed OffMy buddy who is a supplier of industrial products was so pissed off today.

She lost two customer loyalty cards, one from a hairdressing chain and the other a women’s wear chain.

The hairdressing chain said they couldn’t replace her card and she’d have to forfeit her loyalty points, pay $12 to register for a new account and start accumulating her points again. The women’s wear retailer said she couldn’t get a replacement and had to spend another $150 for a new one.

But when she checked their brochures, she found out that she could replace both of her cards!

When pressed for a response, the hairdressing chain said that as the card was transferable, anyone who had picked up could redeem the points.

The women’s clothes retailer manager said they could issue her a replacement card for $50.

Both card companies seemed like a ploy to squeeze more money from her, right?

Wife & Husband Need Different Forms Of Physical Contact June 27, 2009

You know, hubby and I don’t hug, hold hands, play footsie under the table or sidle up to each other while watching TV so often now.

According to family therapist, these forms of physical contact are important to acknowledge each other’s presence in the day.

They are more important than giving material gifts like rings, necklace, handbags or designer clothes.

Besides that, sending messages to each other through a note, SMS or e-mail is a good way to show appreciation.

In Need Of Lice Spray To Get Rid Of Bed Bugs June 27, 2009

BedbugsThere are bugs in my bed and hubby’s that we have to turn the air-cond on for longer hours at night.

Previously, I turned off the air-cond before 12 am. Now I can only turn it off after 2 am.

I’s funny. When the room is cold, the bugs seem to be sleeping. But when the room is warm, they seem to come out and have fun biting me and hubby.

Something must be done tomorrow to really get rid of bed lice. Any suggestions other than lice spray?

In Need Of The Best Diet Pill To Lose Some Weight June 27, 2009

I think hubby is need of the best diet pill to help him lose some weight before he starts teaching again. :-)

Since hubby became a foot reflexologist a few years ago, he has put on quite a lot of weight. If I am not mistaken, he has ballooned from 65kg to more than 80kg now.

I remember hubby told me when he was a teacher in his late twenties or early thirties, he was very very thin.

There was simply too much stress for him being a new teacher at that time. He even suffered from gastric problem after a few years’ teaching. Poor hubby!

Going Back To Sales Career Again? June 27, 2009

With the possibility of hubby going back to teaching line again, I will surely drop the idea of going back to sales career again.

Earlier I told hubby that if he couldn’t find any full time teaching job, it’s likely that I would look for a part time sales job to help supplement my existing online income.

Thank God! God hears my prayer.

God knows that I need hubby to have a stable income to help pay the bills; it’s hubby who needs a job more than I do.

Stop Being A Foot Reflexologist? June 27, 2009

TeacherIt’s lucky that hubby didn’t buy any new disposable gloves when he was in the town the other day.

There is a possibility that he will stop being a foot reflexologist and go back to teaching line again.

Of course, it’s my hope that he becomes a teacher again. Being a teacher is definitely better than being a foot reflexologist in terms of stable income.

Being a full time teacher means there is a stable income of $2,000 from him.

With hubby’s $2,000 monthly income, I don’t have to budget and stretch every dollar so hard. :-)

No Extra Money In Hand To Buy Cheap Growth Stocks June 27, 2009

I really hope I have extra money in hand to buy some stocks. The other day, my sister told me to buy some cheap growth stocks while a neighbor shared with me a stock that was speculated to bring long-term earnings growth rate.

With my credit card debt and overdue car and home loan installments, buying stocks is out of the question for the time being. :-(

So, How Much Did You Get Term Life Insurance? June 11, 2009

Thinking“So, how much did you get term life insurance?”

I love sharing with friends why I prefer term life more than whole life when it comes to insurance.

Each time after I finish telling them all the benefits of term life insurance, they will ask how much I pay for my annual term life premium.

Well, I bought a whole life insurance. It’s not possible to switch to the term life after knowing its benefits. :-)

Buy The Zero Radius Sinks Online June 9, 2009

Hubby still can’t confirm if he wants to buy the zero radius sinks he came across online or the ones he saw at a nearby shopping mall.

Well, it’s actually very easy to decide. The ones he found at the shopping mall were priced much more expensive. To save money, he should just order them online.

I know hubby. He wants to compare as many places as possible to get the best deal.

50% Off Henckels 19-Slot Wood Knife Storage Block June 9, 2009

50% Off Henckels Knife Storage BlockAt last, my sister was able to buy the Henckels 19-Slot Wood Knife Storage Block that she had been eying for some time.

The wood knife storage block was of 50% off discount when she saw it at Amazon.

It still is of 50% off discount now.

My sister is glad that this inexpensive 19-slot wood knife storage block can hold all her kitchen knives, santoku knives, peeling knives, kitchen scissors, steak knives, shears, and sharpening steel.

One thing I like about my sister’s newly-bought knife storage block is that the slots are so long and deep that even the longest knife doesn’t poke out the bottom and gouge the counter top.
