Mutual Funds VS Gold Coins March 9, 2010
Posted by Vedis The Home Lover in : Money Management , comments closedThanks to my AKPK debt management program that I am able to save up some money.
With increasing savings in the bank, I am thinking of investing in mutual funds or gold coins.
I had luck with mutual funds before I was deeply in credit card debt, so it’s natural that I wanted to invest in mutual funds again. However, my blogging pal suggested otherwise.
According to her, she has been making way more money from golds than mutual funds these few years.
So, what do you think?
Setting Up An Online Store Selling Textbooks? February 24, 2010
Posted by Vedis The Home Lover in : Money Management , comments closedRecently, I have been thinking of setting up an online store to sell textbooks.
The idea actually popped up last December when hubby’s students complained to him that they had trouble finding good and reasonable used textbooks.
Some were able to find the used textbooks, but they were either as expensive as the new books or the books were too old and torn.
So I am thinking of collecting as many used text books as possible before the school term ends and sells them to those students who come from poor or average income families.
No iPod This Valentine! February 13, 2010

No iPod this Valentine.
I didn’t use hubby’s money to buy an iPod. Instead I bought some personal care products that I needed with hubby’s $200 raise.
With current bad economy, it’s better for me to buy what I Need rather than what I Want.

Have you finished your Christmas shopping? I have. It’s enough, otherwise, there isn’t any money left in hand after Christmas and New Year.
I hate to start the new year without having any money in hand. This symbolizes a bad beginning for financial aspect, you know.
Just kidding. Actually I need to have some cash in hand for the rental and life insurance premium.
I got a few quick life insurance quotes online this afternoon. One of the agent assured that I might be able to pay less for my life insurance next year.
Good! I have been trying to find ways to pay less for my insurance and this time it’s going to be possible.
I Know The Cheap Deals On Las Vegas NV Hotels, But … December 5, 2009
Posted by Vedis The Home Lover in : Home Moving Tips, Money Management , comments closedAs hubby and I are ready to move to a flat the end of the month, there is no way for us to go on a trip or vacation.
There are lots of cheap deals on las vegas nv hotels going on, but we really don’t feel like going away.
There are simply too many things to pack and unpack. And there is also the hassle of canceling and installing new phone line and Internet connection.
Well, most important of all, we need the money to pay the deposit, two months’ rental and activation of new phone and Internet connection accounts!
Hubby Can Play Ping Pong With His HM Soon! December 5, 2009
Posted by Vedis The Home Lover in : Home Moving Tips, Love & Marriage, Money Management, News & Updates , comments closedNext Tuesday, hubby and I will meet the owner of the flat and have a look of the flat that we are going to rent.
Hopefully the rental can be lowered a bit to be within our budget.
Who will be the happiest person when hubby and I move to the flat near the school? Well, hubby’s headmaster!
I think the HM can start wiping the dust off the ping pong table and wait for the arrival of his opponent, that is hubby.
He has been wanting to play ping pong with hubby for a long time. But due to heavy workload and time constraints, they have only played once.
How’s Your Thanksgiving & Black Friday Craze? November 28, 2009
Posted by Vedis The Home Lover in : Money Management , comments closedHi, how’s your Thanksgiving feast and Black Friday craze? Did you enjoy the best deals on plasma TVs, netbooks, Wii consoles and other hot holiday items?
I was too lazy to look for Black Friday deals these two days! Not a dime was spent on Black Friday.
You know, when you are on a budget, the best thing you can do is stay away from the deals and bargains that can lure you into spending.
I think it’s more practical to look for business or franchise opportunities in this weakening economy to increase income.
What say you?
